A short history of the society so far and an introduction to our activities.

Science Fiction & Fantasy Society exists since 26th March 1996. Founded under the Name Magic Association Luxembourg its main aim was to provide a legal and organisational basis to organise Tournaments for the Magic: The Gathering Card Game. We spend a couple of year organizing sanctioned (towards-world-ranking-counting) tournaments, national championships, pre-release tournaments and other related events.

In 1998 we organized a Halloween Party at Kulturfabrik Esch/Alzette before Halloween Parties were in fashion.

A couple of days later we supported the organization of the first Live Action Roleplaying game. an activity that we continue to support through organizing our own and participating in foreign events.

Since 2002 we participate in a range of the newly popular medieval festivals providing merriment for the younger generations.

In 2004 the decision was made to rename to SFFS and change our aims. Currently we aim to provide Luxembourg and the greater region with a local possibility to talk about and enjoy their favorite genres and media. 

 Ever since the beginning of the society, the members interests have broadened across the field of the fantastic genres. This was mainly due to the "Fantasy Bazaar" in Esch, a Treasure Trove for amateurs and fans of the fantastic genres.
